Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Medication Safety team, Governance, and Medicine Information services within the pharmacy department. This will involve developing and delivering quality improvement, medicine value, and waste reduction programmes relating to medicines.

The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring medicines management related Care Quality Commission (CQC) compliance across the organisation. This will involve collaborating with the Medicines Value & Commissioning Manager and the Associate Director of Pharmacy to deliver quality improvement, medicine value, and waste reduction programmes.

The ideal candidate will have significant post-registration experience, including in a hospital or commissioning role at senior level. They will also have experience of writing evaluations or reviews of medicines and critically appraising evidence.

The successful candidate will be a registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council and will have a post-graduate degree or diploma in Clinical Pharmacy. They will also have evidence of ongoing CPD and be an independent prescriber. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others, as well as excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Medication Safety team, Governance, and Medicine Information services within the pharmacy department.

  • Work closely with the pharmacy team to develop and implement medicines management policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Post-graduate degree or diploma in Clinical Pharmacy.
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD.
  • Independent prescriber.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
