About the Role:

As a Prisoner Escort Officer at Serco, you will be part of a team that provides safe and secure court transportation and custody services. Your primary responsibility will be to collect detainees from prisons or police stations and transport them safely and securely to courts, ensuring the care of their physical and mental wellbeing.

Key Duties:

  • Accompany defendants in court rooms and cells
  • Search property or people
  • Ensure food and drink is available
  • Complete paperwork and data entry for the day

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a current driver's license, C1 License (valid CPC card desirable) / D License (with valid CPC card & Tacho Graph desirable). You must be reasonably fit and have good written and verbal communications skills, using those skills to manage and control all situations.

Our Assessment Process:

Our recruitment process includes an online assessment, a briefing call to assess eligibility, a competency-based virtual interview, and a short role-play and written exercise.

Additional Information:

All roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 4, and all offers of employment are subject to Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 checks with Enhanced DBS (Adult & Child Barring) and satisfactory employment references.
