Sustainability Strategist

Job Description:

• Role Summary:

The Planning Manager - Circularity will play a pivotal role in driving Tarmac's commitment to the circular economy. This dynamic position requires a strategic thinker who can lead the development of plans that define and identify industrial footprint requirements, securing land assets to meet business objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning & Execution:

• Develop and execute strategic plans to secure land assets and ensure compliance with environmental, planning, and waste acceptance regulations.

• Compliance & Legislation:

• Oversee planning and permitting processes to maintain ISO14001 accreditation and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Budget & Financial Management:

• Manage budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditures for Circularity projects, achieving budgeted volume and profit targets.

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Collaborate with internal operational teams, external partners, and stakeholders to drive strategic success and build relationships with joint venture partners, third-party contractors, and consultants.

Requirements:

• Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills

• Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills

• Good decision-making skills, ensuring timely and forward-moving actions

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• A collaborative approach, able to work cross-functionally and engage stakeholders at all levels

• Proven experience in securing land and mineral interests through option, lease, or freehold acquisitions
