Wood PLC is seeking a highly skilled Principal Planner to join our team on an agency basis. This is a key role in supporting the delivery of front-end engineering design (FEED) and EPCIC schedule development for a project in the North Sea.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain the Level 3 FEED Schedule in Primavera P6 in accordance with the approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Maintain and progress the baseline project schedule.
- Monitor and control all planning activities.
- Liaise with engineering and procurement functions, and others as required, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements.
- Analyse and prepare copies of the project FEED Schedule in accordance with project reporting requirements.
- Analyse and prepare copies of project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirements.
- Review and analyse updates to project manpower requirements.
- Assess and communicate the impact of change notifications on project schedules.
- Monitor overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones, and evaluate project performance in relation to planned performance.
- Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings as required.
- Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedules.
- Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions to develop an EPCIC schedule to support tendering for the EPCIC phase.
- Participate in schedule risk analysis (where required).
- Practical applied experience in planning and scheduling.
- Proven experience in the use of Primavera P6 planning software.
- Knowledge of spreadsheets and databases.
- Team player with a willingness to share ideas with multi-disciplinary team members.
- Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Good numerical, analytical and literacy skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Possess good planning and organisational skills and be accustomed to meeting tight deadlines.
