Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in optimizing project costs and risks, ensuring top-notch quality and compliance with building regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior experts to develop and deliver projects in line with business expectations, programme, and budget.
  • Review and assist in drafting and negotiating contract types prior to tender submission.
  • Ensure timely submission of interim applications, including works executed, materials on site, and works by subcontractors.
  • Evaluate, measure, and recover contract variations.
  • Gather records to confirm additional payments and defend claims received from subcontractors.
  • Review, assess, and reduce commercial and contractual risks.
  • Assist with subcontractor procurement.
  • Responsible for effective dispute resolution.
  • Generate payments and distribute notices to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Contribute to weekly financial forecasting and assemble contract costs.
  • Prepare estimates and costs of work during project progression.
  • Keep records of contract variations affecting costs and create reports to show profitability.

Requirements

  • Civil Engineering Degree with a 2:2 or higher.
  • Full UK manual driving license.
  • Passionate about starting a career in the civils industry.
  • High attention to detail and meticulous planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in all aspects of engineering and a desire for a dynamic workplace offering outstanding career opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work flexibly in a team.
