Environmental Manager Job Description

Astute Technical is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join our team at a new build Energy from Waste Power Station in Cheshire.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all environmental issues, including liaison with external bodies and regulators.
  • Develop and implement the Environmental Management System and associated documentation.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Environment Agency on emissions to air, land, and water, as well as consumable and waste deliveries.
  • Support the Operations Team with dust, noise, and odour surveys, and environmental monitoring.
  • Manage the Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and Computer Data Acquisition Systems (CDAS) to ensure compliance with BS 14181:2014.
  • Oversee the sampling and testing of Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) and Air Pollution Control Residue (APCR).
  • Design and deliver environmental training programs.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in a technical or environmental background.
  • NEBOSH certificate qualification as a minimum.
  • At least five years' experience in a similar position.
  • Strong background in environmental science, gained in a heavy process or engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of emissions and waste permits, including IBA, APCR, CEMS, etc.
