ESOL Instructor

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ESOL instructor to join our team at Blackburn College. The successful candidate will possess a PGCE or other recognised teaching qualification and have a Level 4/5 subject specialist qualification in ESOL or a willingness to work towards as part of their development.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach ESOL to students in a variety of settings, including FE, international, commercial, and Job Centre Plus or similar provision from outside agencies.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students and align with the national SFL/ESOL agenda.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve targets in line with the national SFL/ESOL agenda.

Requirements

• PGCE or other recognised teaching qualification.
• Level 4/5 subject specialist qualification in ESOL or a willingness to work towards as part of their development.
• Experience of teaching ESOL in a variety of settings.
• Understanding of the national SFL/ESOL agenda and a commitment to achieving targets in line with that agenda.
• Proven organisational ability and ability to work flexibly, including evenings and independently away from the College campus.
