Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Rural Surveyor to join our team in Edinburgh. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects, particularly in land acquisition, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

About the Role:

  • Negotiate heads of terms, option agreements, and voluntary agreements for acquiring land.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
  • Engage with landowners and agents to maintain and develop long-lasting relationships.
  • Manage the negotiation of disturbance claims following works, ensuring efficient resolution.
  • Secure consents for access across third-party land to facilitate ongoing works.
  • Handle the negotiation of Injurious Affection claims related to infrastructure projects.
  • Contribute to the development of internal processes and systems, optimizing resources for greater efficiency.
  • Ensure all work adheres to legal requirements and relevant industry standards, including adherence to professional conduct rules.
  • Manage and mentor junior members of the team, guiding their professional growth and ensuring a high standard of work.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Professional Qualification: Ideally RICS qualified, or with significant experience in the utility, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
  • Rural Experience: Experience in rural surveying or working with mixed portfolios (commercial and residential) would be advantageous.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant legislation, combined with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ambition & Initiative: Proactive, ambitious, and keen to grow with the business, while continuously developing professionally.
  • Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to drive new business and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative team player with strong communication skills and the ability to engage diplomatically with all levels.
  • Adaptability: Capable of working in a fast-paced, changing environment, with flexibility to manage shifting priorities.
  • Fully Qualified Driver: A full driving licence is required, as the role involves some travel.
What We Offer
