Job Title: Senior Embedded Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at Endeavour Resourcing Solutions Limited. As a key member of our Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) team, you will play a crucial role in the development of cutting-edge marine (subsea) robotic vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Software Development: Plan, architect, develop, and validate new features for our products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Embedded Systems: Design, develop, and debug complex embedded systems using a range of communication protocols and peripherals, with a focus on real-time operating systems for low-latency sensing and communication.
  • Innovation: Identify opportunities for software efficiency improvements through code re-use across various products and projects, and stay up-to-date with the latest technical developments in your area of expertise.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to enable the fusion of hardware and software, and contribute to design and architectural concepts.
Requirements:
  • Expert Knowledge: Proficient in C and C++ programming languages, with experience in developing for and debugging Linux-based embedded devices, including cross-compiling for different hardware architectures, virtualisation, and Docker concepts.
  • Proficient in: Structured software development environments, including architecting and documenting designs, following coding guidelines, developing unit and system tests, and using source control systems and engaging in peer code reviews.
Education:

A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Maths, Software Engineering, or Computer Science, or relevant 5+ years of proven software engineering job experience and on-the-job training equivalent to a degree.
