Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Principal Commissioning Engineer RTS Mechanical to lead test and commissioning activities, de-conflicting tasks, briefing teams, and overseeing work in a high-risk environment. The ideal candidate will have experience of commissioning or maintaining mechanical systems in a highly regulated industry such as Oil, Gas, or Nuclear.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading test and commissioning activities, ensuring safe plant operation and maintaining awareness of plant state and consequences of activities.
  • Deputise for relevant Commissioning Project Leader as required, including supervision of personnel on shift.
  • Liaise/Interface with relevant stakeholders to ensure activities are undertaken in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Instruct and mentor less experienced members of the team with your knowledge and competency.
  • Carry out routine work with limited supervision and have an understanding of safety consequences in a high-risk environment.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working to high levels of detail, recording, and reviewing results.
  • Knowledge of using test equipment and activities required for specific tests.
  • Understanding of the role and how the T&C contributes to the wider business and UK enterprise.
  • Awareness of Nuclear Site/Autorisation Conditions.
