Are you a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon seeking a new challenge in a supportive and well-established private practice? Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a passionate professional to join our client's dynamic team, providing high standards of veterinary services to a loyal and friendly client base.

About the Role:

  • Maintain a trusting bond with owners and their pets throughout the pet's life.
  • Appreciate the animal-human bond and family life in managing patient care.
  • Enable the uptake of professional care and services, whether through facilities, visiting specialists, or referrals to specialist centres, behaviourists, and complementary care.
  • Handle pets with respect and in a gentle and caring manner, following a 'no scruff' and 'no fear' patient care approach.

Our Team:

  • Two experienced veterinarians.
  • Three registered veterinary nurses.
  • Two small animal veterinary nurses.
  • Two veterinary care assistants.
  • Two cattery assistants.
  • One practice manager.

Practice Facilities:

  • Digital CR dental radiography.
  • Separate dental suite.
  • Full in-house lab equipment (IDEXX).
  • Ultrasound – GE Logic R8.
  • Endoscopy and bronchoscopy.
  • Mult-parameter monitoring.
  • Tonometry.
  • Theatre suite.
  • Four consulting rooms (two for cats and two for dogs).
  • Separate cat and dog entrances/reception/consulting rooms and wards.
  • RxWorks practice management system.
  • Quiet room for end-of-life discussions and care.

About the Client:

An independent practice offering an individual and customised approach to each client and pet, with longer consultation times and call-back times for client education and expectation management. They have a high proportion of insured clients and provide direct claims.

Working Hours:

  • Open from 08:00 am - 19:00 pm Monday - Friday, and 09:00 am - 18:00 pm on Saturdays.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of UK small animal practice experience.
  • An interest in dentistry is preferable.
  • Confident in routine surgery, medicine, and emergency work.

Working Arrangements:

  • Three to four days per week.
  • One in three Saturdays.
  • Morning and afternoon 30-minute ward rounds.
  • CPD allowance of £1500 per year.
  • Standard pension.
  • Pro-rata statutory holidays.
