About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Consultant to join our team in the UK. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an individual who can help lead our environmental permitting and regulatory compliance capability.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of environmental themes and prevailing regulation in the UK. They will have extensive experience in industrial environmental permitting and aligned regulations, including the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) and Medium Combustion Plant Directive (MCPD).

The role will involve managing and directing complex projects, maintaining and building client relationships, and working closely with our multidisciplinary technical specialist teams. The ideal candidate will have a track record in either industrial environmental permitting or resource recovery, mining waste, quarry restoration, deposit for recovery, end of waste, materials management, and CL:AIRE DoW CoP.

We are looking for an individual who is willing to learn, has excellent communication skills, and can work autonomously. The role will require travel between Stantec's UK offices and occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct complex projects related to environmental permitting and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain and build client relationships
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary technical specialist teams
  • Develop new and existing business
  • Mentor staff and support clients and projects across our UK teams

Requirements:

  • Honours Degree in Environmental/Earth Science or broader Environmental Management
  • Extensive experience in industrial environmental permitting and aligned regulations
  • Full chartered membership of at least one relevant professional body
  • Commitment to continued development
