Job Title: 3D BIM CAD Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled 3D BIM CAD Technician to join our team in London. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in the implementation of digital deliverables, ensuring all outputs are produced to a high standard in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of engineering designs using best practice details and bespoke solutions
  • Provide BIM Level 2 support from creation of documentation to validation and As Built Close Out
  • Manage 3D CAD models, contributing to your specialized discipline and supporting other engineering disciplines where required
  • Assist in the delivery and management of projects from technical design to construction stage to ensure compliance and delivered to project standards
  • Implement best practice and consistent processes across the project, liaising with project stakeholders and the supply chain to ensure correct standards are applied
  • Responsible for quality processes and quality standards of all drawing deliverables, utilizing Bentley ProjectWise with OpenBuilding Designer and MicroStation for detailed drawing creation and documentation, ensuring information is fully coordinated
  • Lead the production of high-quality design and detailed construction drawings for specific elements of railway station projects, ensuring integration with overall project information models
  • Produce drawing output from 3D model information in line with the Component Catalogue and outline information within the BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
  • Ensure all drawings are submitted, meeting the project requirements set out
  • Support and liaise with the BIM Coordinator, BIM Manager, and wider project joint venture team in the implementation of deliverables adhering to specified project standards and to facilitate issue resolution
  • Ensure accurate and timely information flow and adherence to data management standards
  • Participate in quality assurance checks to ensure they meet the project's accuracy, detail, and the employer's information requirements
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with the BEP and the supporting project standards, contributing to regular reports on BIM deliverable status
  • Work closely with other disciplines to ensure the 3D CAD models are integrated and coordinated efficiently, attending regular coordination meetings as necessary
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project team members on BIM-related issues
Requirements:
  • CAD Technician with at least a minimum of 3 years' experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects
  • Experience of working in an engineering production environment
  • Experience of delivering projects to UK BIM Standards including BS1192 and ISO 19650
  • Proficient in using Bentley software including ProjectWise, OpenBuilding Designer, Bentley RaceWay is preferred and Microstation
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the technical development of 3D CAD components from conceptual design through to detailed construction models
  • Experience in working within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the cohesive development of integrated project deliverables
  • Good knowledge of UK design standards, such as Network Rail, HS2, and TfL
  • Experience working with BEPs, Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDP), Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDP), and Model Production Delivery Tables (MPDT)
  • Ability to adapt to new BIM technologies and workflows, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
