Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEN Support

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in Lancaster. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a nursery setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the learning and development of children with SEN in a 1:1 or small group setting.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Liaise with professionals such as teachers, TAs, and specialist support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
  • Work closely with other LSAs and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Prepare and develop class displays to showcase children's work and achievements.
  • Keep up-to-date records of children's progress and contribute to their EHCP plans.
Requirements:
  • Experience working 1:1 or in small groups with children who have SEN.
  • Previous experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviors and creating a calm learning environment.
  • Ability to engage with and build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Creative, proactive, and flexible approach to support.
  • TA qualification (L2/3) or equivalent.
