An exciting opportunity has become available to work in the Environmental Planning Team at Cheshire East Council, providing specialist advice on landscape architecture, design, arboriculture, ecology and heritage.

About the Role

As an Ecology Assistant, you will help secure the best outcomes for the natural environment by managing development in the borough through shaping planning applications. The role provides opportunities to work on diverse projects including:

  • Developing ecology and conservation guidance and policy for the Local Plan;
  • Surveying sites and managing ecological consultations, including assessing Biodiversity Net Gain Proposals;
  • Advising on ecology matters across various projects and supporting implementation.
About You

You will be working towards a degree-level qualification in Conservation or Ecology, have relevant experience of ecological work, and possess excellent communication skills. A flexible approach to work and passion for the built environment are also essential.
