Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Specialist to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a key role in driving forward waste reduction programmes, compliant contracting, and supporting the sustainable and social economic agenda for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a proactive, efficient, and responsive procurement service, with particular emphasis on procuring value for money products and services contracts, generating non-pay savings for the Trust in accordance with cost efficiency targets.
- Adhere to Procurement legislation and Trust Standing Financial Instructions, whilst awarding robust, compliant contracts with relevant and manageable KPI's.
- Support CALM (Capital, Assets, Leasing and Maintenance) across all MFT sites, including the Capital purchase, leasing, and maintenance of all medical equipment for the Trust.
- Work collaboratively with Procurement colleagues across Greater Manchester as appropriate.

Person SpecificationEssential
- Good standard of Education - Including Mathematics and English
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or currently in the process achieving full membership or willingness to complete and work towards MCIPS.
Desirable
- Degree level qualification
- Part/Full Membership of the CIPS
Knowledge
Essential
- Relevant purchasing experience within a private or public sector organisation
Desirable
- NHS/Public Sector procurement knowledge/experience.
- Awareness of National and Regional Framework contracts
Training and Experience
Essential
- Willingness to undertake any training as required by the Trust.
Desirable
- Experience in a Procurement and Supply Environment or other office environment.
- Evidence of continuous personal development (PDP).
Skills and Abilities
Essential
- Good communication skills.
- Effective Organisation Skills.
- Effective Interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Knowledge and proficiency of packages particularly in the use of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Effective data processing and analytical skills.
- Customer Service skills.
Desirable
- Experience of Proactis / Due North tendering platforms or equivalents
