Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Psychologist to join our established multidisciplinary team at The Brighton and Hove Clinic, a specialist inpatient eating disorder unit for children and adolescents. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, and contributing to the development of the service.
Main Responsibilities- Providing specialist psychological assessments and individualised evidence-based psychological interventions for patients with severe eating disorders and complex mental health difficulties.
- Working within a multidisciplinary team, managing a complex caseload, facilitating group psychological interventions, and supporting staff development through training and reflective practice.
- Contributing to the development of the service, including the design and delivery of training and staff development initiatives.
- Providing high-quality clinical supervision to junior members of the psychology team.
- Supporting staff development through the provision of training, consultation, formulation meetings, and reflective practice sessions.
- Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent if trained overseas).
- Registration with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist.
- Knowledge and understanding of eating disorders and related comorbidities (e.g. anxiety, trauma, depression, self-harm), and the impact these on both children and adolescents, and their families.
- Prior experience in eating disorders is desirable but not essential for this position. Experience working with patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder, neurodivergence, trauma, and personality disorders is also desirable.
- Post qualification training in the specialist application of therapeutic models relevant for working with children and adolescents with eating disorders and other comorbidities (or for newly qualified psychologists an interest in undertaking further specialist training).
- Experience of supervising and training junior members of the team.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for patient's psychological care and treatment as a qualified professional within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
- Annual salary of up to £55,000.
