Clinical Pharmacist

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated pharmacist to join our team as a Clinical Pharmacist - Medication Risk Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing risk related to medication use and providing assurance around the safe use of medicines.

In this role, you will work closely with our pharmacy teams across acute sites within the Health Board area and link in with primary care to promote medication safety agenda and provide support for Pharmacy, Medical, Nursing, and other staff on safety initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist who is passionate about medication safety and has the skills to assess and manage risk, initiate and manage change, and provide assurance around the safe use of medicines.

About the Role:

• Assess and manage risk related to medication use
• Develop, deliver, and evaluate the medication safety plan in line with national directives
• Lead on specific audits, intervention reports, and quality improvement projects
• Support the Procurement Pharmacist and Divisional Pharmacists to manage clinical impact and safety implications of medication switches and policy amendments during a medicines shortage scenario

Requirements:

• Masters level qualification in Pharmacy or equivalent experience
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £65,000-£85,000 per annum depending on experience, plus benefits including flexible working, occupational health support, and opportunities for professional development.
