Environmental Graduate Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Environmental Assistant to join our dynamic Environment team at McGee Group. As a Graduate Environmental Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our team on multi-disciplined sites across London, working on day-to-day project activities related to environmental management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake desk-based research and assessment to identify potential environmental risks and opportunities.
- Carry out site inspections with senior colleagues to monitor environmental conditions and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Prepare and deliver reports on environmental performance and progress.
- Design and supervise site investigations, including sampling and laboratory analysis.
- On-site monitoring of air, noise, vibration, and groundwater to ensure environmental safety.
- Sampling of soil, gases, groundwater, and surface water to assess environmental conditions.
- Scheduling laboratory analysis to support environmental decision-making.
- Data input, management, and interpretation to inform environmental strategies.
- Undertake risk assessments to identify potential environmental hazards.
- Interpretative report writing, preparation of figures, and other graphical data to communicate environmental findings.
- Assist in group and site-based audits to ensure environmental compliance.
Requirements:
- Appropriate degree in geology, environmental, engineering, chemistry, or other related discipline.
- Master's degree in a related geological or environmental discipline (desirable but not essential).
- Experience with IT packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- An eye for detail, being able to accurately measure, record, and input data.
- Well-organised, with the ability/initiative to prioritise and organise work activities.
- Numerically competent.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Competent and efficient report writing skills.
- Self-confident and able to build positive working relationships with colleagues and clients.
