Safeguarding Specialist Nurse/Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Safeguarding Hub-Specialist Nurse/Health Practitioner to join our team at the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our community health team, you will play a vital role in promoting health and wellness among children and families in our borough.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver a high-quality 0-19 service to children, young people, and their families, ensuring a consistent and effective approach to health promotion and safeguarding.
- Participate in needs assessments and work collaboratively with local populations to improve public health, aligning with national and local guidelines and priorities.
- Maintain effective communication with children, young people, their families, and carers, as well as professionals and agencies involved in client care, ensuring an individualized and client-centered approach.
- Understand and be aware of the nurse's responsibility in safeguarding vulnerable clients, including children, young people, and adults.
- Be responsible for delivering public health and universal and targeted interventions across the 0-19 years age range, delegated by the Specialist Public Health Practitioner for a defined population.
- Seek out and offer health promotion and preventative opportunities to children, young people, their families, and carers, promoting positive health management.
- Work with children, young people, and families within the home environment, school, or other identified community setting, requiring independent travel to these locations.

Requirements- Ability to manage time, workload, and/or work area, responding appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
- Willingness to undertake further training and evidence of continuous professional development.
- Essential to have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes and be able to travel independently across the county.
- Experience of working with children and in a community setting.
- Demonstrates an awareness of 0-19 Universal Services, the Public Health Agenda, and Primary Care.
- Understanding of National and Local drivers and directions that relate to measuring and improving the quality and safety of patient care.
