Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Healthcare Management Lead to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for managing our hospital capacity, including emergency admissions, non-emergency planned admissions, and managing the flow of patients during their stay.

You will work closely with our clinical ward teams to deliver high-quality patient care, achieve capacity-related Trust performance and quality targets, and provide a flexible team approach to ensure a smooth, efficient, and effective operational/bed management service.

The ideal candidate will have experience of undertaking a clinical management role, such as Duty sister or Service co-ordinator, and possess relevant qualifications and skills, including a postgraduate degree. A strong understanding of relevant Government health strategies and implications for nursing is also essential.

In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping our team and developing new ways of working. You will work closely with our discharge team to manage bed occupancy for emergency admissions, ensuring safe and appropriate patient placement and the effective use of beds linked with planned and projected discharges.

We offer a competitive salary of £46,148 - £52,809 per annum, plus a 5% high cost area supplement. You will also benefit from a structured pay scheme, minimum 27 days' annual leave, access to our Alex Lounge, and flexible working options.
