Electrical Engineering Graduate Programme

We are seeking highly motivated and talented graduates to join our Transmission team at SSE. As a graduate, you will be part of a dynamic and innovative team responsible for the safe and reliable transmission of electrical energy across the north of Scotland.
Key Responsibilities- Work with experienced engineers to develop and maintain the transmission network
- Contribute to the planning and execution of transmission projects
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the network
We have three teams within Transmission: Investment Planning, Control Centre, and Strategic Energy Planning. Each team plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable transmission of electrical energy.
Investment PlanningThe Investment Planning team is responsible for identifying and prioritizing transmission projects. They work closely with customers and stakeholders to ensure that the network is developed and maintained to meet the needs of the region.
Control CentreThe Control Centre team is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the transmission network. They work closely with the Investment Planning team to ensure that the network is operated safely and reliably.
Strategic Energy PlanningThe Strategic Energy Planning team is responsible for developing and maintaining the long-term strategy for the transmission network. They work closely with stakeholders to ensure that the network is developed and maintained to meet the needs of the region.

Requirements- A minimum of a 2:2 degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field
