Surveying Team Leader

We are seeking a skilled Loss Reinstatement Specialist to join our team at Trinity Claims. This role involves working closely with our Surveying Team to attend, assess, and prepare scopes of work on large loss claims.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of estimating and surveying principles, with experience within the insurance industry being essential. Xactware or other estimating software proficiency is also desirable.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that claims are managed efficiently and effectively, with a focus on controlling claim spend on buildings and overseeing large loss reinstatements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend risk addresses and make claim assessments to determine the validity and quantum of losses
- Evaluate customer building claims and provide detailed explanations for declines or partial claims
- Support Customer Services with FOS complaints, including report writing and technical decision-making
- Identify cases with high potential for cost savings or repudiation and coordinate site visits
- Liaise with approved building contractors to review contract variations and interim payments
- Provide technical support within the Surveying Team on building repairs, methodology, and pathology
- Validate customer invoices and quotations using Xactware, discussing costs with policyholders to ensure fairness and reasonableness
- Produce accurate reports and scopes of work for large loss claims using Xactware
- Audit and oversee our Surveyor Network and Contractors, identifying any leakage from the surveyor scope and through contractor variations
- Progress and update Buildings Insurance claims, including updating reserves, cash settlements, and closing claims as required
Benefits:
As a member of our team, you can expect a competitive salary range of £41,822-43,822 (DOE), plus a £4,800 car allowance. We also offer a range of benefits, including 25 days annual leave, life insurance cover, enhanced company pension scheme, and cycle-to-work scheme.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years construction experience, trade background considered
- Estimating/surveying experience within insurance is essential
- Xactware or other estimating software proficiency desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Tact and assertiveness when dealing with customers
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- PC literate with good administrative skills
- Ability to take on increased ownership and responsibility
