Electrical Generator Service Role


We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team in the Preston/Manchester or Cannock area.


The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with electrical generator installation, maintenance, and repair. They should be knowledgeable about NICEIC requirements and have excellent testing skills.


Key Responsibilities:



  1. Electrical Installation and Testing: The successful candidate will be responsible for installing control and power cabling between generators, changeover panels, switchboards, and ancillary equipment.
  2. Site Testing and Fault Finding: They will conduct on-site testing of installations to clients' specifications, identify faults, and perform modifications as needed.
  3. Maintenance and Servicing: Regular electrical generator servicing and maintenance at customer premises is also a key aspect of this role.
  4. Generator Load Testing and Commissioning: The engineer will perform load testing and commissioning of generators to ensure they meet client specifications.
  5. Call Out Rota and Travel: The candidate may be required to participate in a call-out rota and travel to various locations, including staying away from home occasionally (2-5 nights per month).

Requirements:



  • Relevant Qualifications: NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, and 2391 certifications are highly advantageous.
  • Driving Licence and CRB Check: A clean driving licence and CRB check are essential.

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a competitive salary range based on industry standards and location factors.
