Purchasing Assistant Job Description

Just Recruitment Group Ltd is seeking a skilled Purchasing Assistant to support the purchasing function of a large, global manufacturer based in Sudbury. The successful candidate will work closely with the purchasing manager to ensure timely delivery, cost effectiveness, and good quality of indirect materials, raw materials, and packaging materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the procurement of materials, ensuring timely delivery and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with production, logistics, engineering, finance, IT, and quality assurance teams to coordinate procurement activities.
  • Set up new supplier accounts and manage order confirmation, ETA dates, and customer clearance.
  • Resolve invoice queries and obtain invoices.
  • Research and identify potential new suppliers.
  • Manage supplier and material information across the company's systems.
  • Build relationships with existing and potential suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor inventory levels and generate purchase orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Understanding of purchasing and supply chain challenges and terminology.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to maintain and build good working relationships, internally and externally.
  • Effective communication skills in writing and verbally.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office applications, including strong Excel skills.
Working Hours and Benefits:

The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 5pm. The company offers free parking and a desirable working location.
