Metalworking Craftsman

We are seeking a skilled Metalworking Craftsman to join our team at Bigbury Mint.

• Design, cut, and shape metal components using various techniques including annealing, pressing, turning, grinding, sawing, fabrication, filing, soldering, polishing, and bead blasting.
• Inspect and quality check finished products to ensure they meet our high standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve timely completion of tasks and maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
• Operate and maintain machinery and equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Train and oversee junior staff members in metalworking techniques and safety procedures.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new processes and techniques to improve efficiency and productivity.

• Proven experience in metalworking, preferably with a background in medal making.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated ability to train and mentor others.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.

This role requires working in a busy workshop environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards. The successful candidate will be required to wear protective gear and follow strict health and safety protocols.

£35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
