About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Support Professional to join our team at Coventry City Council.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children with complex autism, who may be non-verbal and have challenging behaviours.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced staff to provide individualised support and education to our students.

You will be employed on 35 hours a week, Monday to Wednesday, 8am to 4pm. The working pattern is 38 weeks term time plus 5 training days, 39 weeks in total.

The salary for this position is £23,850 per annum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support and education to students with complex autism
  • Work closely with experienced staff to develop and implement personalised learning plans
  • Support students with challenging behaviours, using positive strategies and techniques
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure seamless communication and support
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture

Requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English grade 4/C and above or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to use relevant technology and equipment
  • A commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem, and progress of everyone at the school
  • Personal skills and qualities required to form positive relationships with children, parents, and carers
