Year 6 Teacher Responsibilities

As a Year 6 teacher, your key responsibilities include providing pastoral care, promoting teamwork, and creating a conducive learning environment. You will also be responsible for teaching the Key Stage 2 curriculum to groups of children, setting individual learning targets, and tracking progress.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience in teaching Year 6 students and preparing them for SATs exams
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality lessons and achieving excellent academic results
  • A strong understanding of the national curriculum and assessment methodologies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Patience, resilience, and a passion for teaching
