Job Title: Waste Driver

We are working closely with a Local Authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of a Waste Driver, on a 3-month contract, which may be extended at the client's discretion. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £15.50 - 19.38 per hour

Job Summary:

To maintain a high standard in the collection of waste and recycling.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive and be responsible for the allocated vehicles, performing vehicle checks, routine maintenance, and cleaning using a wash bay. Transport goods equipment and personnel, assisting in the loading and unloading of the vehicle when necessary, and completing associated paperwork.
  • Complete and return all relevant paperwork daily to the supervisor and report non-collection and reasons.
  • Update in-cab technology with non-collection and reasons.
  • Collect waste from streets/roads on each day, following the specified schedule.
  • Ensure all waste is collected, loading the vehicle in a considerate, safe, and proper manner, adhering to health and safety procedures.
  • Ensure crews collect assisted collections on stated days.
Qualifications:
  • Experience of driving refuse/recycling vehicles.
  • Holds a current HGV licence.
  • Experience of completing daily log sheets and tachograph/books.
  • Able to operate electronic ICT systems.
  • Experience of collecting and recycling rubbish.
  • NVQ 2 waste management or equivalent, or ability to work toward.
