Job Title: Chief Digital Information Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Digital Information Officer to join our team at Kingston Hospital. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering our digital strategy, managing our digital teams, and bringing together our digital capacity across the new organisation to work collaboratively.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of successful change management and leadership, with significant experience at (or near) director level in a large, complex customer-facing organisation. They will also have a proven ability to develop and implement IM&T strategies to achieve transformational levels of change and efficiency.

The Chief Digital Information Officer will provide strategic IT leadership and professional advice to the Executive Team and Trust Board, senior managers, and clinicians in line with both local and national requirements. They will also be responsible for managing the Digital, informatics, and information governance teams and working with partner organisations to ensure that services deliver to expected standards and timescales.

The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to improve performance and make a difference, with the ability to make decisions autonomously on difficult issues, working to tight and often changing timescales. They will also have the ability to introduce new methods of working despite potential resistance and to plan strategically in the medium and longer term.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the digital strategy for Kingston Hospital
  • Manage the Digital, informatics, and information governance teams
  • Provide strategic IT leadership and professional advice to the Executive Team and Trust Board
  • Work with partner organisations to ensure that services deliver to expected standards and timescales

Person Specification:

  • Masters or postgraduate degree in an IT, project, or programme specialism
  • Programme, project, or change management (MSP, PRINCE2, AGILE, or CHANGE equivalent), or equivalent level of experience
  • Evidence of continuing personal and professional development
  • Relevant professional qualification or equivalent level of experience

Desirable Criteria:

  • NHS experience
  • Experience of business development and commercial acumen
