We are seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join our well-established team at Black Fox Solutions in Belfast. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all vehicle types, including plant maintenance and repair of site equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repair of all vehicle types, including trucks, buses, and other heavy vehicles.
  • Conduct routine inspections, including part and machinery repair cost analysis, to identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform pre-MOT inspections and vehicle roadworthiness inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Produce vehicle defects diagnosis reports and communicate findings with the Service Manager/Operations Director.
  • Monitor the general wear and tear of vehicles and their parts, recording any abnormalities and reporting to the Lead Mechanic/Operations Director.
  • Carry out general repairs, major overhauls, or replacements of vehicle engines and gearboxes as required.
  • Attend vehicle breakdowns and conduct roadside repairs as necessary.
  • Perform automotive electrical work, including welding and other repairs.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified to City & Guilds level 3, BTEC, or NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair, or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience working in a workshop environment, conducting a similar role that demonstrates your ability to work as part of a team.
  • HGV license is preferable but not essential.
