Job Title: Substation Inspector

This is a permanent position within our UK Power Networks team, reporting to the Field Staff Supervisor and working in our Central London, Covent Garden office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining the Primary Distribution network, including fault location and repair of minor plant defects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspection and Non-Intrusive Diagnostic Testing of all plant and apparatus associated with the Primary Distribution network.
  • Fault location and repair of minor plant defects associated with the Distribution network.
  • Ensuring that all staff for which you are responsible work to the DSR and demonstrate a safety culture.
  • Take oil samples for diagnostic testing from HV Plant.
  • Use IT equipment.
  • Supervise Maintenance/Construction staff within their working party.
  • Assist other sections as determined by your experience.

The ideal candidate will have a basic electrical background, flexibility, and the ability to work in a team environment. They will also have a clean driving license and an understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation.

This role has been classified as a Specified Role and is subject to pre-appointment drug screening observing the UK Power Networks policy on Alcohol & Drugs.
