Electrical Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our client, a thriving Electrical Engineering company in Southampton. This is a hybrid role that requires on-site presence twice a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage project-specific design deliverables and ensure compliance with client procedures.
  2. Interpret and understand client requirements from documents, drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
  3. Communicate with clients, external design resources, and subcontractors to ensure specification compliance.
  4. Conduct site surveys of existing assets, optioneering, and feasibility studies.
  5. Assist with tender pricing and produce procurement specifications for electrical equipment.
  6. Project manage third-party designs and provide design assistance to installation and commissioning teams.
  7. Review vendor data and drawings for electrical equipment and package plant.
  8. Undertake and check design calculations, including modeling of the complete power system.
  9. Prepare drawings for CAD production and create single-line and block cable diagrams.
  10. Record and document design changes through to completion and issue 'As Built' documents.

Requirements:

  1. An appropriate Electrical Qualification (BEng) or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience with AutoCAD and Trimble Design Suite software.
  3. Chartered Engineer status or working towards would be advantageous.
