Service Engineer for Power Systems

Eastern England, United Kingdom Chloride Full time

Overview:

The Service Engineer will be primarily tasked with the initiation, upkeep, and urgent repairs of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), battery systems, power distribution units, and site monitoring apparatus. A vital aspect of this role is to foster, enhance, and sustain strong relationships with all clients, sales representatives, distributors, and other stakeholders in the region, while ensuring open communication with the service management team.

Key Responsibilities:

Your expertise in UPS, battery systems, power distribution, and site monitoring technology will be essential in providing outstanding service and customer satisfaction. You will have the chance to participate in client meetings as needed and offer technical insights to both clients and team members when appropriate.

Our clientele spans across the UK, relying on critical systems to function continuously. This will necessitate a reasonable amount of travel to client sites, including overnight stays away from home. Additionally, some troubleshooting may involve interpreting client-provided schematics, as not all equipment serviced is produced by Chloride.

Candidate Profile:

Education: HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Experience: Previous experience in a field service role is essential, particularly in a technical service or testing environment involving electrical or electronic equipment, with a preference for UPS or related sectors in power electronics.

Experience on industrial sites such as power generation facilities, oil and gas operations, or nuclear sites would be advantageous.

Skills: Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office), exceptional customer service abilities, strong communication skills, self-motivated, capable of planning, organizing, and managing time effectively, and able to perform under pressure.

Possession of a clean and valid UK driving license is required.

Coverage Area: Primarily mainland UK, with opportunities available throughout the country as needed (average of five overnight stays per month).

Contract Type: Permanent / Full Time

Preferred Location: Luton
