Kier Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our North Scotland construction business based out of our Aberdeen office. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in construction projects that can range in value from £10M -to £50M + within education, leisure, healthcare, heritage and commercial.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring the commercial success of a new build project just outside of the city centre, managing to financial close. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Advising on financial feasibility of projects at early stages, undertaking market testing.
  • Organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement.
  • Assessing returns from sub-contractors and awarding work packages, negotiating with sub-contractor supply chain to achieve best value.
  • Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the form of CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports).
  • Managing final accounts.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on 2 stage construction bids, strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contract conditions, and prior experience taking commercial lead on high value construction projects. A relevant academic qualification – Degree / HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying / membership to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (Desirable) is also required.
