  • Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and driven individual to join our team as a Trainee Estimator.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering pre-designed and design-and-build projects across various sectors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret customer requirements from site surveys, specifications, drawings, and related documents to determine product and labour needs for each project.
  • Prepare bills of quantities and quotations accurately.
  • Gain both practical and theoretical knowledge to assess the impact of different building and installation requirements.
  • Assist in creating client-facing documents, outlining detailed technical and commercial information specific to each job.
  • Manage and prioritise enquiries to meet project deadlines efficiently.
  • Develop an understanding of regulatory requirements for compressed gases.

Requirements:

  • Experience in an estimating/design capacity preferably within an engineering environment (not essential)
  • Formal qualification in either engineering/design (HND or above)
  • Ability to interpret engineering and construction drawings (not essential as training provided)
  • Methodical attitude with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office Programmes (proficient use of Excel)
  • Experience with CAD software would be an advantage (not essential as training provided)
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Confident communicator, able to present information clearly.
  • Quick thinker, adaptable to changing project needs.
  • Approachable with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Takes ownership of performance and development.

Package:

  • Monday - Friday; 9 am - 5:15 pm (fully office based)
  • Salary up to £30K DOE
  • 34 days annual leave (includes 9 statutory)
