About Us

BAM Nuttall is a leading construction company in the north of England, undertaking large-scale projects such as the Transpennine Route Upgrade Project (TRU). As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in promoting and delivering civil engineering excellence on this project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor assistant, trainee engineering, and technician staff to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain good working relationships with clients, designers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Review and verify that drawings and specification documents contain sufficient and accurate information for construction purposes.
  • Ensure that works are accurately set out before commencement, and comprehensive records of resources employed are maintained.
  • Collaborate with Section Engineers to prepare 'look ahead' programmes and coordinate with overall site programmes.
  • Implement and monitor COSHH assessments for materials used and ensure requirements are met.
  • Pass material delivery tickets to Section Engineers for cost coding.
  • Maintain high personal standards in health and safety, environmental awareness, and behaviour, and report any unsafe observations or close calls.

Requirements

  • Degree, HND in Civil Engineering, or equivalent NVQ Level.
  • CSCS Level - Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/Manager.
  • SSSTS qualification.
  • Successful experience at Assistant Engineer level.
  • Working towards achieving ICE Technician or Incorporated level or equivalent.
  • Able to accurately set out using various instruments.
