About the Role

Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital is seeking an experienced Cardiac Physiologist to join our team. As a Cardiac Physiologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Cardiology department and CRM service. Your primary responsibilities will include device interrogation, optimisation, troubleshooting, and reprogramming of a range of CIEDs, including ILRs, pacemakers, ICDs, and CRTs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be autonomous in device interrogation, optimisation, troubleshooting, and reprogramming of a range of CIEDs, in line with local and national policies and guidelines.
  • Have experience with a range of programmers and devices from various manufacturers.
  • Have experience in conducting Echocardiograms.
  • Have experience in remote monitoring on multiple manufacturer platforms.
  • Support the wider surgical teams in clinical decision-making to reprogramme or deactivate devices before surgery, following BHRS guidance.
  • Ensure accurate clinical records are maintained in line with professional, statutory, and organisational guidelines.
  • Provide clinical supervision in line with statutory requirements.

Person Specification

  • As a Cardiac Physiologist at our Leeds Hospital, you will hold either a BTEC ONC and HNC in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement, or a BSc in Clinical Science /Physiology (or equivalent). You are currently registered with the RCCP as a Clinical Physiologist. Ideally, you are also accredited with SCST and BSE.
  • The successful candidate will be registered with the relevant professional body (RCCP, AHCS or HCPC) and be accredited with the BHRS, IBHRE, EHRA, BSE or equivalent, or be able to evidence they are working to that level.
  • An excellent communicator and team worker, with flexibility, motivation, and a commitment to the highest standards of patient care.
