Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join our commercial finance team at Bauer Media Group.

This role is responsible for providing high-quality financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions. The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Controller and other stakeholders to deliver accurate forecasts, budgets, and cost analyses.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in financial planning and analysis. They will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets for various business areas
  • Own the process of reporting costs across multiple departments, including premises, broadcast & digital distribution, technology & engineering
  • Manage review processes for accruals & prepayments at month-end
  • Input into the preparation of month-end reporting to key stakeholders and create management packs with reports that provide a clear view of costs across relevant departments
  • Partner with the Chief Operating Officer, Broadcast & Technology Director, Head of Distribution, Head of Property & Facilities, and proactively support the business in making decisions
  • Provide fast, informed, and independent appraisals to management for projects to be undertaken by the business
  • Offer value-adding support and analysis to the business on operational decisions through modelling of financial and non-financial outcomes of alternative scenarios and advise accordingly
  • Own the process for reporting to external bodies such as Ofcom and music royalty bodies

Requirements:

  • A qualified or near/part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
  • Financially numerate with strong Excel skills and other business analysis tools
  • Ability to manage a busy workload in a time-pressured environment
  • Great team working skills and ability to support others in the team as needed
  • Confidence in interpersonal skills and ability to communicate key updates on a timely basis
  • SAP and SAP Analytics Cloud experience favourable but not mandatory
  • Ideal candidate has worked in a similar financial analyst role
