London, Greater London, United Kingdom The Random House Group Limited Full time

Are you a detail-oriented and organized individual with a passion for publishing?

Vintage, a division of Penguin Random House, is seeking a Managing Editor to join our team for a 7-month period. As a Managing Editor, you will oversee titles in first and second formats through all aspects of the editorial production process, working closely with the Editorial, Production, and Design teams, as well as with external freelancers and authors, to see titles through from manuscript to press.

You will be responsible for copy-editing and proofreading book jackets and covers and marketing material to the highest standard. You will also support the implementation of Vintage house style across lists and in the standardization of editorial processes and systems.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have demonstrable experience of in-house desk- or copy-editing, impeccable attention to detail, a sound knowledge of English grammar, and excellent proofreading abilities. You will also have strong communication skills to liaise effectively with authors, freelancers, and colleagues.

We offer a competitive benefits package, including financial, well-being, and lifestyle benefits. Our people are the heart of our business, and we work hard to support a culture of responsibility and recognition.

As a Disability Confident Committed organization, we are part of the 'offer an interview' scheme. This is where disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria for the role can opt in to get to the next recruitment stage.

We encourage you to tell us about any reasonable adjustments you may need.
