About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydraulic Modeller to join our team at Strata Construction Consulting UK Ltd. As a key member of our Water Management Team, you will play a crucial role in delivering our national programme of work, focusing on flood risk management projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership for fluvial and pluvial modelling projects, including experience using flood modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HECRAS, or ICM.
  • Coordinate and manage flood modelling studies within our teams, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of projects.
  • Develop and implement hydraulic modelling approaches, including scoping and technical reviews of hydraulic models.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating complex technical information.
  • Mentor and develop junior hydraulic modellers, providing guidance and support to ensure their technical skills and knowledge are up-to-date.
  • Contribute to business development by identifying prospective opportunities and leading on the preparation of proposals, showcasing our expertise in flood risk management.
  • Provide project, commercial, and financial management for projects, ensuring effective delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service and support.
Requirements
  • Proven track record in undertaking fluvial and pluvial hydraulic modelling, with a strong understanding of flood risk management principles.
  • Commercial experience, including project management and bid preparation, with a focus on delivering infrastructure projects or working with local authorities and national government.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals.
  • Relevant experience of delivering infrastructure projects or working with local authority/national government, with a strong understanding of UK flood risk policy (NPPF and TAN15) and flood estimation methods.
  • Drive and ability to build client relationships and develop suitable opportunities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Chartership with a relevant professional body (or commitment to work towards within an agreed period), demonstrating a commitment to professional development and excellence.
  • Desirable to have experience in GIS, FCERM studies, Flood Risk Assessments, and knowledge of UK flood risk policy (NPPF and TAN15).
