Job Title: Animal Technician

About the Role:

CK Group is seeking a skilled Animal Technician to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be based in Cambridgeshire and will be responsible for conducting daily animal husbandry duties, including feeding, watering, cleaning, animal handling, and animal observations as directed by the team leader or buddy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily monitoring and reporting of the animal unit environment, including temperatures, and the security and suitability of animal housing.
  • Complete cleaning and maintaining animal rooms, associated areas, and equipment, in accordance with work instructions.
  • Receiving and dispatching of goods in/out of animal facility, using correct sterilization procedures to maintain animal barrier status.
  • The production, birthing, weaning, sexing, counting, and weighing of animals.
  • The ability to implement basic animal breeding systems and an understanding of the importance of replacement breeding stock selection criteria.
  • Re-housing and grouping of animals in accordance with Home Office guidelines, as directed by the team leader.


Requirements:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Animal Management.
  • Experience in routine manual work that requires attention to detail.
  • Experience in routine animal husbandry.
  • Experience in animal handling of all species onsite.
