Job Summary

Nuffield Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Radiographer to lead our Diagnostic Imaging team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services and providing clinical leadership to our radiography team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of radiographic examinations, including specialist procedures, in accordance with department protocols and Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IRMER).

  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to radiography staff, including induction, development, and training, and input into recruitment and performance review.

  • Ensure work is carried out efficiently and to agreed working practices and protocols, and represent the department at meetings and ensure that actions are followed through and feedback provided to the department.

  • Monitor and maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment, and work alongside the Radiation Protection Supervisor or Deputy Radiation Protection Supervisor for the location to assist in the monitoring, review, development, and maintenance of systems of work that ensure radiation exposure is restricted.

  • Regularly monitor radiation safety and take appropriate action when any issues/problems are identified, in accordance with statutory and organisational policies and procedures, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with statutory and organisational policies and procedures.

  • Co-ordinate and participate in audits and the QA programme, review policies, procedures, and protocols, and make recommendations regarding their content and application within area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Hold a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification, and be HCPC registered.

  • Have a working knowledge of IRMER, IRR, and be able to undertake audits, and Radiation Protection Supervisor training/qualification would be desirable.
