We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Classroom Teacher to join our dedicated SEN school team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing specialized education and care for children with Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), and other complex conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Embody the School's Ethos: Uphold and promote the school's values of empathy, inclusivity, and high standards of care.
  • Support Holistic Development: Collaborate with students, parents, and external professionals to develop individualized education programs aligned with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Deliver Adaptable Curriculum: Design and implement a curriculum tailored to the unique needs of each pupil, fostering academic and social growth.
  • Assess and Report Progress: Continuously monitor and document students' progress, ensuring accurate and comprehensive reporting.
  • Pastoral Care and Support: Provide emotional support and guidance to students, building strong relationships with parents and carers.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), conducting appraisals and providing guidance.
  • Therapeutic Activities: Support students in participating in therapeutic activities, such as swimming, trampolining, and sensory integration exercises.
  • Classroom Displays: Maintain high-quality classroom displays reflecting pupil achievement and progress.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in SEN education.
  • Safeguarding and Child Protection: Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
Curriculum and Assessment
  • Broad and Balanced Curriculum: Deliver a curriculum that meets the developmental and educational needs of each student.
  • Assessment and Policy Documentation: Ensure all planning, assessment, and policy documentation is up-to-date and reflective of current educational standards.
