About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a highly regarded Special Educational Needs School in Rhondda Cynon Taf. The successful candidate will work closely with a small group of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related challenging behaviour, aged between 8 and 12.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with ASD and related challenging behaviour in a small classroom setting.
  • Offer ad-hoc 1:1 support to students who require additional assistance.
  • Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and ensuring students are engaged and cared for.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to provide a safe and enjoyable learning environment.

Requirements

  • At least 40 days of relevant experience working or volunteering in a school or with children.
  • Empathy, patience, and calmness are essential qualities for this role.
  • Team Teach training is a desirable qualification.
