About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team as a Fabric Operative/Escort at HMP Cookham Wood. As a key member of our Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a range of maintenance tasks, including basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.
• Work alongside experienced colleagues to maintain the fabric of the prison, including cleaning, painting, and other tasks.
• Assist in the maintenance of prison facilities, including equipment and machinery.
• Contribute to the overall safety and security of the prison environment.

Requirements:

• Experience of working in a prison environment or a similar setting.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Previous experience of working within a building fabric or hard FM environment.
• Up-to-date First Aid at Work qualification.
• Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
• Good Health and Safety knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills.
