Delegated Authority Analyst Job Description

The Delegated Authority Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the operation of the Delegated Authority Framework for The Hartford International (HIG). This includes working closely with the Delegated Authority Manager and other Analysts to ensure the process remains up to date and effective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process new and renewal delegated facilities, including binding authorities, lineslips, consortia, and master policies, in collaboration with underwriters and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure the appropriate approval process for delegated facilities is followed and assist with ongoing monitoring, tracking actions and subjectivities as necessary.
  • Monitor and complete tasks in Lloyd's delegated systems, including Atlas, Delegated Contract and Oversight Manager (DCOM), and Delegated Audit Manager (DAM).
  • Prepare management information for the business, including reporting for the Delegated Underwriting and Claims Committee (DUCC), such as portfolio stats, Coverholder due diligence items, and issues identified.
  • Assist with the creation and monitoring of the Coverholder audit plan, reviewing audit reports, and tracking actions through to completion.
  • Work with the Central Operations team to ensure delegated data is received and entered on a timely basis.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide advice to underwriters in relation to delegated underwriting.
  • Act as a referral point for the Delegated Authority Administrators.
  • Assist with the operation of the facility EPI and credit control process.
  • Support projects related to delegated authority business as required.
  • Attend market forums and conferences as necessary, staying up to date with developments in the DA sphere.

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • Knowledge of general insurance principles and practices.
  • Logical, analytical, and resourceful with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to follow through on tasks and projects.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and sustain relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office (Excel in particular) and knowledge of underwriting systems (Subscribe), document repository, and workflow systems (ImageRight).
  • Knowledge of Lloyd's delegated systems (Atlas, Crystal, DCOM, DAM) is desirable.
