About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Strategic Flood Risk team at North Lincolnshire Council, where you will lead the delivery of local flood risk management. As a key member of the team, you will work with partners to reduce the risk of flooding and improve the water environment locally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess flood risk in the area and investigate incidents of flooding
  • Deliver projects that help to reduce flood risk
  • Provide expert advice on surface water management provisions for new developments and land drainage proposals
  • Work with applicants to promote the implementation of sustainable drainage systems on new developments
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, salary sacrifice scheme, excellent CPD opportunities, and Local Government Pension scheme.

As a Flood Management Specialist at North Lincolnshire Council, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team, contributing to the delivery of our ambitious programme of works for new and improved flood defence infrastructure. You will be responsible for providing technical assessment and advice to the Local Planning Authority on the suitability of surface water drainage proposals for new development, ensuring the council's role as statutory consultee in the planning system is fulfilled, and working with developers and landowners to regulate activity on ordinary watercourses.
