Product Support Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) Job Description

BMR Solutions is seeking a skilled Product Support Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) to join our team in Chippenham.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to work in a product support environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our customers, as well as working on various projects related to product development and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and assistance to customers via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Work on product development and maintenance projects, including design, testing, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve product quality.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, technical guides, and other supporting materials.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve product design and functionality.
Requirements:
  • Qualified to at least HNC in a mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Experience of Product Life-cycle Management (PLM) tools is important.
  • 3D CAD to a competent level, SolidWorks preferred but other CAD systems considered.
  • P.C literate.
  • M.S. office applications to a good standard.
  • Some hands-on mechanical experience is preferred.
  • Ability to draft technical documents and reports to a good standard.
  • Can react to changing workloads and priorities.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Good communication skills are a must as any applicant will be expected to talk to different departments at different levels as a matter of course.
