Job Title: Facilities Secretary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Facilities Secretary to join our team at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will provide essential support to our Consultants and their clinical teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our Neurology department.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Provide a point of contact for written and telephone enquiries, using discretion to establish the validity and priority of the contact.
  2. Deal efficiently with enquiries from all levels of medical and nursing staff, GPs, Social Services, and other allied health professionals, providing basic information and non-clinical advice.
  3. Deal with and action incoming mail, including email and faxes, and refer investigation results to the Consultant or other areas for action and information.
  4. Accurately transcribe correspondence to GPs, internal Consultants, other hospitals, and outside agencies using the Trust digital dictation system.
  5. Action appointment requests, RTT pathway outcomes, and OPD outcomes contained within clinic letters using the hospital PAS system.
  6. Assist patients and their carers by arranging translation/interpretation facilities.
  7. Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the consultant's practice, keeping a diary of relevant problems and events for ease of handover.
